Bears from all over Europe will meet up from 15 October in Brussels for the second edition of the Bear Pride Belgium. Launched in 2011 with the election of Mr Bear Belgium and converted into a Bear Weekend in 2012 and 2013, the event is a symbol of diversity and tolerance within and outside the gay community.
Gay organisations and gay businesses of Brussels will therefore host with their innate sense of hospitality, gay travelers from all over Europe from 15 to 18 October. The program includes parties, tours, gourmet meals, gargantuan or on the go!
For this Bear Pride, parties and events will take place at La Réserve, at the Baroque, at the Station BXL, at Stammbar or Macho sauna, iconic places of Brussels gay scene. The main event, during which the election of Mr Bear Belgium 2016 will take place, is scheduled on Saturday night (Oct 17) at the Vaudeville Theatre, temple of memorable gay parties in the 90's. It features DJ Manue G, resident DJ of the Beardrop, the famous French bear party.
With clubbing weekends, specific bars, dating websites or apps, dedicated cruises or Prides, the bear community is the most structured group within the gay community. Major bear events are held annually in Amsterdam, Lisbon, Madrid or Barcelona.
