Fully contained and Private Basement wood-paneled room with queen bed, full bath, wifi, and private entrance in nice house next to a lovely park. Nothing is shared - it's your space. Great central location with easy access to city attractions and lots of nearby restaurants. No need for a car - use public transit or walk. Flexible check in/check-out - you can arrive by 3pm on the first day and stay until 12pm on the last. Late check-in is fine. We have hosted roughly 1,000 folks since 2012, mostly on a different site. Some caveats: (a) our house is 110 years old, and like a similarly-aged human, it's bones creak a bit and you can hear light footsteps and occasional voices during the day from above; (b) there are no cooking facilities in the room, so if you are looking for a kitchen, this is not the space for you.

This was a perfect location to explore Seattle area. We enjoyed the basement apartment. Easy private access. Lots of charm. Would recommend this location to others.

Phil and Andrea are excellent hosts and have thought of everything! The location is very convenient to several major bus lines, and in an area that feels like a simple home, even in a big urban area. Their hospitality is above and beyond in every way — whenever I come back to Seattle, this is the first listing I'm checking!

Friendly welcome and very easy to communicate with prior to arrival. Andres showed us round and gave us local information which proved useful and left a welcome home made cake which was a nice touch. The accommodation was comfortable, clean and spacious and as described independent from the main house. Although a distance out from the city the cheap cost of Uber still makes a lot cheaper than a central hotel. We would definitely recommend a stay to anyone visiting Seattle

Phil and Andrea's basement room is super cozy, especially after a day of exploring the city. Communication was easy and Andrea's baked treats were delicious. I definitely recommend Phil and Andrea's place, you won't be disappointed. Thanks, gents!

Phil and Andrea are experienced hosts who have created a basement apartment for visitors. I can see all the little details they have added over the years likely from feedback and ideas on how to make it work great for visitors. They were welcoming and even invited me to a local potluck for their gay running group. Andrea makes pastries you might get a chance to try; they're definitely delicious. The home is a super close-in suburb, and getting downtown or to Capital Hill was quick and easy. Recommended for sure

Even though my stay was short, Phil and Andrea's basement room was fantastic. A cozy room to relax after a day of adventuring, with all the amenities you need. Communication was easy and they're terrific fellas. Special mention to Andrea and his amazing baked treats (orange & almond cake and peach cream cheese scone). I undoubtedly recommend this place.
