Room in modern and cosy apartment in Madrid (Chamberi)

Everything was great. James is very nice. Apartment is clean and cozy.

James was very kind both before my arrival and when I got there, with a comfortable room that was well-located. I only stayed one night, and didn't have more time to chat with him.

The flat has clearly been recently refurbished and is beautifully decorated. The neighbourhood is mainly residential, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby and even a supermarket just around the corner. The location is ideal: central enough to walk to Chueca, yet somehow tucked away from the hordes of tourists! Jason was incredibly kind and welcoming. I was in Madrid for a conference, so unfortunately we didn't get much of a chance to hang out, but he came across as genuinely friendly and accommodating during the brief moments we spent together at home. I'd definitely consider staying here again next time I'm in Madrid.

I had a wonderful stay at James's place. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The apartment is well-maintained and enjoys an excellent location. For example, it's very close to the CANAL metro station, restaurants, supermarkets, and also a very active theater, Teatros del Canal. My host was very courteous and helpful: ready to provide all the information I needed and to make me feel at home. I had such a lovely stay at James's place in Madrid! Everything was perfect, from the apartment itself to the location, which made it so easy to explore the city and enjoy everything Madrid has to offer. James was super friendly and communication was always smooth and easy. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience, and staying here made my trip even more enjoyable. I would definitely love to come back and would happily recommend James's place to anyone visiting Madrid! ☺

My stay with James was an absolute 10/10! The place itself is beautiful, amazing location (beautifull neighborhood). Beyond the great space, I really enjoyed our conversations, the delicious coffee, and all his spot-on local recommendations. Having always stayed in Chueca, the lively gay district, this accommodation is situated in the Chamberí neighbourhood, a quiet, family-friendly and more affluent area. This is also evident in the flat, which features a modern kitchen and a modern bathroom. My room was clean and had everything I needed. Chamberí is close to the city centre, meaning that from the nearest metro station (approx. 400 m away), it takes three stops to reach Plaza de Chueca, or a walk of about 2.2 kilometres. James gave me a warm welcome; communication (initially in English and later often in Spanish) took place mainly via ********, as he wasn’t in town every day. However, replies were prompt. In my view, he is an ‘invisible’ host, even when you’re staying in the flat at the same time, which is fine by me in principle. However, the fact that one evening he forgot I was his guest and had locked the front door did spoil my stay, as I had to spend a few hours ‘in the corridor’ that night. Hasta ahora siempre me había alojado en Chueca, el animado barrio gay, pero este alojamiento se encuentra en el barrio de Chamberí, una zona tranquila, más familiar y de mayor nivel económico. Esto también se nota en el apartamento, que cuenta con una cocina y un baño modernos. Mi habitación estaba limpia y tenía todo lo necesario. El Chamberí está cerca del centro, lo que significa que desde la estación de metro más cercana (a unos 400 m) se tarda tres paradas en llegar a la Plaza de Chueca o hay que recorrer unos 2,2 kilómetros a pie. James me recibió muy cordialmente; la comunicación (al principio en inglés y después, a menudo, en español) se realizó principalmente a través de ********, ya que no estaba en la ciudad todos los días. No obstante, siempre respondía con rapidez. En mi opinión, es un anfitrión «invisible», incluso cuando ambos estamos en el piso al mismo tiempo, lo cual, en principio, me parece bien. Sin embargo, el hecho de que una noche se olvidara de que yo era su huésped y cerrara la puerta del piso con llave empañó mi estancia, ya que tuve que pasar varias horas «en el pasillo» durante la noche.

A great apartment ideally located in a quiet neighborhood. Close to downtown and public transportation. James is a very pleasant person, gives good advice and is very accommodating for check-in and check-out. My first experience with Misterbnb and I'm not disappointed. I highly recommend this accommodation without hesitation.
