An Army of Naked Men to the Orsay Museum in Paris

The Parisian Musée d’Orsay new temporary exhibition "Masculine / Masculine - The Nude Man in Art from 1800 to the Present Day" may well be a hit in the Marais in the coming weeks. From today until January 2, 2014, the museum houses 200 pieces of art portraying for the first time the representation of the naked man in arts over a long period of time.

The exhibition was first launched last fall 2012 in the Leopold Museum in Vienna and created a scandal. What will happen in Paris? Paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs by Jean Cocteau, Picasso, Pierre et Gilles, Edvard Munch and David LaChapelle are organized along a marked route with very evocative names: "The Classical Ideal", "The Naked Hero", "Gods of the Stadium",  "the Glorious Body" or "the Object of Desire".
