My husband and I, both “senior citizens”, spent our first wedding anniversary at the Oceanfront Bali Hut, and it greatly exceeded our expectations! Located along the famous Kapoho Kalapana Road, also known as the Red Road, the entire estate was beautifully landscaped, from the charm and ruggedness of the hut, down to the lava flats and the crashing ocean waves just beyond. We loved the outdoor kitchen/dining area which was perfectly situated under a pergola extending from the hut. With the food we bought from nearby markets, we had everything we needed to make great meals. Down the path was a wonderful outdoor hot-water shower, fitting of a tropical rainforest. We enjoyed walking naked between the shower and the hut. We’re nature lovers, and were delighted with all the lush vegetation surrounding us, fruit and flowers were everywhere. The local wildlife included Saffron Finches, dazzling butterflies, and colorful little geckos, curious as to what we humans were up to. We also enjoyed feeding the two resident white ducks who roamed the estate. Our entire time there, we had a deep sense of engagement with nature, and spent many hours relaxing under the pergola, watching the daytime turn into a moonlit nightscape, filled with a glorious chorus by the exotic frogs and crickets. Truly inspirational! The bed was extremely comfortable, and the Wi-Fi was excellent. The entire place is invisible from the road, and we felt so safe that we never locked the front door during our stay. Dwight and Brian were very friendly and attentive, making sure our stay was exceptional. We’ve already decided to return for our second anniversary! If you’re looking for a true island paradise hideaway, Oceanside Bali Hut is the real thing!

We loved staying Dwight's bali hut! Dwight was super helpful getting us settled, showing us around, and gave us some tips for things to do and places to eat. The outdoor shower, the yoga hut, stargazing on the lava rocks, and picking fresh avocados and oranges from the yard were highlights. We were a quick drive (3min?) to Kehena Black Sand Beach (nude, mixed crowd of heteros and homos and even some kids) and an hour drive to Volcanos National Park. Amazing stay! Thanks Dwight!

Dwight was very nice and I actually really enjoyed the accommodations, but the description is a bit misleading. There is nothing about the Bali Hut or anything within walking distance of it that is specifically gay and the clothing optional aspect was not very anonymous as two of the neighbors had multiple vantage points into the property. The beach within walking distance is neither private or nude; there is a black sand beach where we did experience some random nudity, but there wasn't an obvious gay area or any grouping of queers we noticed.

The Bali Hut is the perfect place to enjoy "off grid" living in a beautiful location. We were able to disconnect from the world and relax with the sounds of the ocean in the background and the frogs singing us to sleep. The property is large and beautiful and offers enough privacy from neighbors so that your true inner nudist can be explored without worry. And right beyond the yard is the lava rock which leads to the ocean for some gorgeous views. The only drawback was at the time of our visit there was no WiFi or ability to charge any devices like we thought so I would recommend a portable charger, downloading some movies/shows, and lots of books. It's great if you really want to "unplug". Dwight was a great host - very friendly and easy to get in touch when you needed something. Would highly recommend.

The Bali Hut is beautiful & charming for a romantic or personal retreat. The rustic set up is comfortable and very close to nature. It's a very short walk to the shoreline and lava field. Don't miss sunrise to start your day! Dwight is a terrific host as well - thoughtful, available and so friendly.

Dwight was a nice man until you call him out on the lies and the conditions of the hut. Trash around. And fake pictures of naked beach and dolphins and flowers have nothing to do with his property at this location. No hot water, no wifi, no cell phone coverage, cracks on ceiling and roof shingles are coming off. Then he threatening me that I will not be able to stay anywhere else on the island and he would ban me. NOT COOL. Reported him. BE AWARE
