Downtown Tropical Garden Hideaway

Michael is such a gracious host, and he has great recommendations for hikes, beaches and tours. His rental unit is cozy and just right for 2 people, tucked away with total privacy. Very close to town for easy walking to stores, coffee and downtown restaurants. It's a great value for several nights on the east side of the island. Bonus: His cats will poke their head in for a visit if you leave the door open for air flow!

Excellent host and an overall great experience. Upon first glance, the outside was a little unsettling. However, the inside was perfect for our needs. The place is clean and inviting. The kitchen was well-appointed for what we wanted to do. The bed is comfortable, and the living space is very nice - homey. There was good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The bathroom had a bidet toilet which was a nice feature. Our host was very accommodating and provided an easy check-in experience. He was able to answer all of the questions that we had throughout our stay. He provided direction for local activities, restaurants, and attractions.

This was my second stay with Michael, I was extremely happy about my stay with Michael. His accommodations are centrally located in Hilo, the property was nice and clean, a very good value for what you pay. You can walk just about anywhere. Michael gave me a little personal tour of the area, showed me a very nice chocolate cocktail bar, gave me some recommendations for businesses around Hilo. I would definitely stay again on my next trip.

Cozy and clean room, nice hospitality from Michael: he gave me advices about what to see in the town. Just remember you need earplugs in Hilo because of the coqui frogs chirps during night!
