Our apartment, Le JACQUOU (40 m2), is located in the heart of the medieval village of Beynac-et-Cazenac, ranked as the 7th most beautiful village in France.
It consists of two rooms and one large bathroom.
Its castle, perched atop an imposing limestone cliff over 150 m high, overlooks the Dordogne River and seems straight out of the 12th century and the era of the Barons of Beynac. Access to Jacquou is via the old cobblestone path leading to the castle.
In the Middle Ages, the house’s walls were an integral part of the ramparts; in fact, one of the openings is a loophole. The house was renovated in the fall of 2012, resulting in a subtle blend of tradition and modernity. A tradition spanning over 500 years of history is reflected in the ochre-colored stone walls, the exposed wooden beams, and the pointed-arch window in the common room.
Modern features include: * a living area featuring a KITCHENETTE equipped with a refrigerator-freezer, dishwasher, 4 induction cooktops, a combination oven-grill-microwave, a DINING AREA with a table and 4 Altuglas chairs, and a LIVING AREA with a 2-seater sofa and ottoman, nesting tables, and a flat-screen TV. * one bedroom: double bed (140 x 190 cm) * a large bathroom with a sink, a shower stall with a spa feature, and a toilet.

Above all we recommend that you discover the village of Beynac, its alleys, its river, the barges but also its majestic and monumental castle. The LASCAUX caves are unmissable, but so is the Château des Milandes, formerly owned by Joséphine Baker. What about the bewitching and magical town of Sarlat. Etienne de la Boétie's house alone is worth the detour. There are many prehistoric sites and countless castles. It is said that the Dordogne has more than 1000! We also inevitably recommend the unforgettable canoe/kayak day, which is the most typical sporting activity in our beautiful region. The flight over the Valley of the 5 castles remains a MUST. Our guests particularly appreciate the local markets, the bastides, the caves, the chasms and the tasty local gastronomy. We will of course give you the addresses of the best restaurants and fabulous inns.
Our house is non-smoking and we only accept very small dogs.
