Nearby Attractions

The Metro is two blocks away, with a great public bike system and lanes throughout the Zona Sur (Copacabana and Ipanema). Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf, and Santa Teresa are a quick 20 min Uber (as with most of the tourist spots depending on traffic.)

Gay / Queer Spots: Ipanema Beach is the gay beach of Rio de Janeiro. The beach stalls (Barracas) from about number 55 to 65 (I like #65) is the main section of the gay beach and about 10 minutes walking. Leme Beach features more of a queer mixed beach, . There are pubic bikes available (easily usable with Uber) and a stand in front of the apartment building. In Ipanema, there are a few gay bars Silencio, Lou Lou, and Popeyes. They are low-key places to grab a drink. Many of the restaurants have gay management and staff, all very welcoming. In Copacabana, there are a few gay venues, Pink Flamingo stands out as the most typical gay bar, with a few other options through out. There are also monthly parties that happen and I'll be happy to share those details with guests too.

1. I'm reasonably flexible on check-in/ check-out times depending on additional bookings. 2. No smoking 3. No Parties - this can be discussed and there is a rooftop terrace available. *** Unauthorized guests: security and safety are a concern, therefore I do require a notice if friends are coming over. Welcome to a degree of course. 4. Noise Restriction: Quite from 10pm to 8am. There is a hard rule of quite times for the city of Rio and the apartment building. Plus I appreciate respecting my neighbors, they're very cute older ladies. 5. I love dogs and pets, but unfortunately don't host them. 6. Cleaning requirements, please clean up after yourself such as dishes, recycling, and putting trash down the chute. 7. Damage control: I greatly appreciate honesty and furnished the whole apartment with a lot of effort. With that said, if something goes array, everything was done in mind of having friends and people staying with me. Just let me know, if not it will be a bigger issue. 8. Electricity is expensive here, please turn off AC and lights if you're not in the room.

Jacob is an excellent host - super attentive and communicative. He shared tons of insights that elevated my experience. The space itself is nicely decorated, comfortable, and spacious. The apartment is within walking distance of Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, multiple metro and bus lines, and tons of restaurants and bars. Highly recommend for your next stay in Rio!!

Nice place, spacious, clean and good location. Jacob, despite speaking little Spanish, made 100% effort to help us with everything and give us recommendations for tourist places. I recommend it

10 out of 10 STARS. Amazing stay! Jacob was a fantastic host with great communication. The apartment was spotless and just a quick 10-minute walk to the beach, with excellent restaurants, a local grocery store, and shops close by. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and while the apartment doesn't have AC, the fans and large open window provided great airflow! --> The rented room has AC, keeping it perfectly cool. Can't wait for my next stay in Rio at this prime spot!

Where do I start?! Staying at Jacob's apartment in Rio was my first Mister b&b experience - I was sceptical of using Mister b&b, but it couldn't have been better. Jacob was a kind, generous and thoughtful host. I was made to feel safe and at home immediately. Not only was Jacob 10/10 at giving amazing local recommendations and advice during my stay, but he himself was a perfectly welcoming person to share a space with. The apartment itself was beautiful, comfortable and in the exact location where you'd want to stay in Rio. For someone travelling solo and wanting to find their feet to explore Rio - this is the perfect place to be and enjoy the experience. I couldn't recommend staying with Jacob enough - I already can't wait to stay again, with my amigo Jacob. The best Rio experience and stay that I could imagine. Thank you, Jacob!
