Beautiful ocean apt in lower Vidigal (favela) only 10min walk to beach

This could be your quintessential carioca (of Rio) experience!

This pretty apartment is in the outskirts of the Vidigal favela, the most famous, safe and touristic favela in Brazil, probably. It's really close to the main road and the beach, so you'll only have to climb around 100 stairs to get here. See, we even save you a gym pass! (more calisthenics tools around) But, whenever you go to the main square of the favela, the supermarket or to eat at the restaurants, you MAY (if you choose) pass by the boca (the stand where they sell drugs in the middle of the street out in the open surrounded by a bunch of guys with rifles and other types of ammunition). Also, you can't see the mess from the apartment, but as soon as you open the door...it's not a pretty sight. The favela, as you can see in the photo and probably know, is ugly, houses built very glued to each other, utility wires hang loosely from above, and some rats and cockroaches can be found in the street (in summer).

So, if you're up for this hardcore experience, here's the better part: It's only a 20min walk (or 5 by bike) from Leblon (the beautiful beach and one of Rio's most expensive neighborhoods) and close enough to all the beaches Rio is so famous for: Ipanema, Copacabana etc. Lots of public transportation, bus, van, Uber, scooter-taxi etc. and you're close to all you need and want to see in Rio!
