"Do you want a fanta fanta fanta, ola!", "I'm Chantal Jmeladonne, your head model" or "You sit to the left! you sit to the right!"... Fans will have recognized some of the cult lines of Pam Ann, the craziest, the craziest, the gayest stewardess!
Pam Ann, a character invented 15 years ago by Australian comedian Caroline Reid, is coming to France for the first time with her "You F'Coffee European Tour". She will be on stage at the Alhambra in Paris on May 4th. A few days before this Parisian show (sold out), we contacted Caroline Reid to get some news about Pam Ann, talk about the show and evoke her favorite places!
So, how is this European tour going?
Caroline Reid aka Pam Ann: Darling, it's great! It's a lot of work, I'm exhausted but I love it! As an anecdote, I thought I was going to die on the plane last night when we arrived in Zurich, there was a huge noise, I thought we had lost an engine, but our lucky star was with us, everything is fine. It's been 9 weeks since we started, we have already crossed 8 countries.
First show in Paris?
CR: First time in Paris, yes, and it's sold out! Isn't that great? I'm very happy because I have many friends in Paris. So I'm really looking forward to Wednesday. We're going to have a f***ing party!
You seem very close to your fans?
CR: Yes, and I say thank you to social networks. Without them, without YouTube, I would never have made it this far. I am a Facebook addict, I communicate a lot throughmy page, I am very accessible.

The show is entirely in English. Are you sure that everyone will follow?
CR:It's true that you French are very ticklish with this! But I'm Australian, so I'm totally unable to speak French! As much as I can say swear words in German, I can't say them in French. Even "merci beaucoup", I can't do it! Impossible to imitate your accent!
But I asked one of my French friends, Laurent, to come on stage from time to time to translate. And in the worst case, I will ask people in the room to come and help me !
You play a lot with the audience, don't you?
CR: Yes, darling, and no one will be safe! Even in the back rows!
And you already know what you're going to talk about on stage in Paris?
CR: Of course, I can't resist making fun of Air France and its A380s! After the JFK incident, I can tell you that Air France scares the shit out of a lot of people. "Get out of the way! Get out of the way! An Air France plane is landing!!!". You'd think their pilots wear burqas or something?
As for the rest, I'll publish a few posts on Facebook on Monday to get all the latest Parisian gossip!
What recent news has inspired you?
CR: Besides the Air France A380 crash at JFK? The Qantas A380 engine explosion... the Lufthansa crew smuggling fake Euros from China... And then, even though it has nothing to do with that, Will and Kate's wedding!
How would you describe the character of Pam Ann ?
CR: Pam Ann is probably the last hostess you want to meet! She's the type to say "fuck you" to a passenger. She can be your worst nightmare on a long haul flight. At the same time, she can be like a mom, or your best friend. It depends on how hot you are and which row of the plane you're sitting in.
Besides Pam Ann, will there be other characters on the Alhambra stage?
CR: I play Lilly, the Chinese hostess. I like her, she's funny, she's one of my favorite characters... The others will only be there through some video appearances.
But I'm already thinking about a new show where I will play all my characters.
How come all your fans are gay?
CR: I love gay people. Without them I wouldn't exist! I grew up with them, in Melbourne I only went to gay bars, never to a straight bar. In fact, I think I'm gay (laughs) I'm like you, I love the b***. I love it so much (laughs)!!! 99% of my friends are gay, and the other 1% is a totally wacky Latina from New York. Gay people are my sisters, my family, my tribe. Do you think I need to see a shrink???
I hear you're a gay cruise addict?
CR: Yes, I must have done about 30 Atlantis cruises already. I love it! No kids on board, hordes of gays all better dressed than each other, rubbing up against each other, the best DJs in the world, and the best parties! Gays know how to party! And since I'm the only girl, everyone takes care of me, it's very flattering! Thanks to these cruises, I was able to see a lot of the country and meet some amazing friends.

You live in New York, what are your favorite places there?
A bar? The Boom Boom Room, on the 18th floor of the Standard Hotel. It's so hard to get on the guest list that I have to get my friend Calvin Klein to come in with me (laughs). Their parties are amazing. Last time, when I came out of the bathroom, I didn't realize I had my dress on backwards! That's how much trouble I can get into out there!
A restaurant? The Four Seasons restaurant. For its very 60's architecture, its fountains... At lunchtime, there are only businessmen in suits, it's so exciting!
A hotel ? The Soho House. The rooms are huge. I love the concept of this hotel and all the hotels of the chain.
A club? Let's say Lady Fag's parties. She is my sister. At her parties, you're sure to have fun.
A store? All the stores in the Meatpacking District, especially Alexander McQueen's.
A place to recommend to a tourist to feel the real New York atmosphere?
CR: Buy a ticket and go to the top of the Empire State Building. A must! Otherwise, take a walk in Manhattan. And if you're a naughty girl like me, who likes Latinos and blacks, walk around Harlem or the Bronx by yourself! (laughs)
What other cities in the world do you feel at home in?
CR: I would say Melbourne, Sydney and London, because that's where I lived, so that's where I have my friends and family

What are your favorite places in the world?
A hotel? Well, this is very recent but frankly, the Dolder Grand in Zurich, where I am currently staying, is just FABULOUS! It's just perfect. Nothing to say. The food, the service, the view on the Alps, the lake... A perfect hotel for James Bond. Fabulous.
A bar? The bar at the Soho House in Berlin. I love this city. So creative. And this bar is sublime, with an amazing view.
A restaurant? Les 3 Garcons in London. Their foie gras... And I love the owners. For the decor, you feel like you're in Alice in Wonderland smoking crack. It's crazy. Antiques, stuffed animals...
A club? Jackie O' in Mykonos. Right next to the beach... Beautiful boys... Nights that never end...
A store? Selfridges in London. You can find everything there!
A beach? Psarou Beach in Mykonos... I have crazy memories there. Memory of being so drunk!!! (laughs)
The ideal city to party?
CR: New York. The party never stops. You can find a guy at any time of the day or night. Plus you can get ANYTHING you want delivered to your house, ANYTHING!
In which city have you seen the most beautiful guys?
CR: New York! Probably because I'm addicted to Puerto Ricans and Blacks... Otherwise, I like Scandinavians!
The ideal city to fall in love?
CR: I guess I should say Paris? But in Paris, I have memories of fights, of unpleasant people... Maybe I expected too much from this city? So no, not Paris. I would say... New York !
The ideal city to get married ?
CR: I would say Paris. Or maybe Westminster Abbey (laughs). Anyway, I'll never get married. I understand that gays are fighting for the same rights but frankly, I don't want to get married! Because you gays have understood everything, you are always 3 in a couple, there is always a lover. It's like the French with their mistresses. I want to enjoy life too, to have fun, I don't want to settle for a b*** for the rest of my life!
The most gay-friendly city?
CR: Somewhere in Scandinavia. I feel like it's all so easy for them. They are so open. They walk around naked in front of their parents and it doesn't bother them! But if you ask them if they are active or passive, they blush (laughs).
The most gay-friendly airline?
CR: Besides Pam Ann Airlines, I would have to say SAS! I've heard about their love flight, these gay weddings in the air... It's great! But I don't want weddings on my airline! No tears in our company! We will rather organize divorces!!!
What item do you always take with you on your trip?
CR: My sex toys, just in case... And then my iPod. I need it for the take-off, I always take off listening to "Can you feel it" of Michael Jackson.
Are you more of an aisle or a window person?
CR: Porthole! And in business class please!
Your main advice for a good trip?
CR: Xanax!
Your next trip ?
CR:I've been on tour for 9 weeks now. So my next real trip will be to New York, back home. The only other trip that could tempt me is a boat trip to Ibiza. Or a trip to Mykonos
A destination that you don't know yet and that attracts you?
CR: Africa. I would love to go on safari, to see animals... Pam Ann goes on safari in Africa. And gets eaten by a tiger. I love the idea!
Finally, could you share one of your recent vacation photos?
CR: Look at my iPhone, it was yesterday, the Lufthansa pilots on the plane that took me to Zurich. They are so cute!
