Gay film: "Que viva Eisenstein", baroque and erotic!

In 1931, freshly spurned by Hollywood and ordered to return to the USSR, filmmaker Sergei Eisenstein travels to Guanajuato, Mexico, to shoot his new film, Que Viva Mexico!

When he meets his guide, Palomino Cañedo, who is also married with children, his creative genius is exacerbated and his intimacy deeply disturbed. Confronted with the ardent desires and fears inherent in love, sex and death, Eisenstein lives ten passionate days in Guanajuato that will change the rest of his life.

Que Viva Eisenstein, trailer, released 08-07-2015 from Pyramide Distribution on Vimeo.

Que Viva Eisenstein! marks the grand return of British director Peter Greenaway (Murder in an English Garden, The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover), who revisits an essential period in the life of Eisenstein, a prolific figure in Russian cinema and a source of inspiration for Greenaway himself.

This journey becomes an awakening to sensuality and amorous sensitivity between two men, two whimsical characters brilliantly embodied by actors Elmer Bäck and Luis Alberti. Their meeting, through an offbeat dialogue brimming with jubilant eccentricity, gradually turns into a sensory and carnal adventure.

Staging an initiation to love and sex, Peter Greenaway liberates bodies and minds in majestic shots and cult scenes that we won't soon forget!
