Meet Fadi, 38, and currently living in Washington D.C. He's a well-traveled bakery owner and a great misterb&b host! Here's his take on the things you cannot miss in the U.S.A's first city!
What makes DC a favorite gay destination?
It feels like there are more gays in the city than there are straight people! Architecturally it's beautiful, biker-friendly, there's great public transportation and a burgeoning bar and food scene.
What's the best gay event that takes place in your city?
Gay Pride Parade is by far the best gay event - it happens the first weekend of June every year.
What's your favorite gay place to grab a bite for lunch?
For lunch Red White & Basil, and for a nice dinner The Duplex Diner. Each attracts a fun crowd, and the food is delicious!
And the best gay bar for a cheap beer?
JR's. There's a good happy hour, and a lively, fun crowd.
Best gay bar for a refreshing cocktail?
Trade. It can get crowded, but still a fun atmosphere.
We're ready to go dancing... what's the best gay dance club?
Nellies; great music for dancing, pleasantly crowded and buzzed.
Best place to be surrounded by the local gay community?
Anywhere along 14th Street and Logan Circle.
A gay place for brunch on weekends?
Level One. Bottomless Mimosas... need I say more?!
Finally, what's gay life like in DC?
It's amazing! There lots to do and beautiful men all over the city. ●
