The Reveal

Near LGBTQ+ SceneCozyGreat for Fitness LoversInsta-WorthyRelaxingCentral location

You are most welcome to a very intriguing, engaging corner of the world. Walk into the garden level. Relax on the private covered porch rain or shine. Comfy queen bed, TV, little kitchen, full bath. Amble down the stairway to town. Seymour is a kinda cute, wanna-be chi-chi hamlet. We are trying hard. At pinkies-up Tea with Tracy take veddy, veddy proper high tea. Agave dishes up a popular Latin-fusion brunch. Zois', Train Station, 1st Street are a few good pizza joints. Karaku is super Asian fusion, Good sushi & Chinese places. Fortunately, Elite Fitness is waddling distance. Burn off some of the 18,000 calories you gathered browsing. I will join you. My fitness tip: whatever I am doing, do the opposite--you will be good. I AM able to advise when there are finger-bitingly hot dudes on the free weights. Pro tip: Sneak a side-eye, drooling - no, wear loose fitting shorts in case of accidental tumescence. Browse the antique/specialty shops or go low brow at the pawn shop for hopefully not "hot" deals. You prolly didn't come here for a chain saw. The Naugatuck River is a nice neighbor. Walk to the falls. After a hard rain it can be raucous. Cheer the fish up the fish ladder "You go, trout!" At French Park contemplate the monuments & survey the river valley & Great Hill. Come for their annual Pumpkin Festival to browse the homey art & crafts. Wander the Trails at Legion Pool Park. Come at holiday time to visit Santa. Aunt Bea is calling. She wants her lifestyle back. If you are hard-core trail person, bike up to Little Laurel Lime Ridge Park for super dramatic stone out-croppings, fine views of the Housatonic River Valley & the uplift that the breezy, sun-splashed hilltop affords. On Great Hill, stop by Bomba's Farm for a side of beef or a bale of hay if you are feeling farmy. Or maybe just some eggs & corn. Woodbury is a sweet stop. Settled 360 years ago, it is quintessential New England. Tooling the winding lanes is a trip back in time. Waterfalls, woodlands, ancient farmsteads: Soul-soothing! Here is the antiquing capital of the US. Lots of great shops to haunt & historic sites to peruse. The Housatonic River is great for boating. Birdwatch at the Audubon Preserve. Go Eagle-spotting at Shepaug Dam. The crystal-clear water of Long Island Sound Beach is close. Don't miss horseshoe crab mating season! Very stimulating wading among the mating crabs. If that puts you in the mood with the urge to merge, we can tour my favorite fishing holes (AKA local XXX joints) Take a walk on the dark-room side. Back home, we can share good convo & a little nosh. Say hi to son Bobby, a Spaniel. We live upstairs. Spy my feline children Gus or Moonpie frolicking in the shrubs. A very humble home on a quiet, 1-way lane. Hear the birdsong & church bells on the breeze. Do consider the passing trains. That sound & the clang of bells has an old-time charm. However, ear plugs are on me. Cooking or baking is good, Tickle the ivories, or I can while you belt out show tunes. Clothing is optional WITH change to15-watt bulbs if I, NEVER ready for my close-up, am present. A former pro masseur, I am happy to serve, if knocking around our fair state has you tied in knots. ********/Sniffies guys just feet away can make things interesting. N.B. This is a very un-stylish, comfortable, inviting home. I will do all I can to make your stay truly enjoyable & memorable! Just a train ride from midtown NYC to the front door. Come!

Host recommendations

I appreciate everyone's right to consume and participate in anything that pleases them. This home, though, is completely drug-free, including marijuana. Smoking of tobacco only is allowed outside. Social drinking is fine. For certain, this is a place for only that. It is not a party spot as far as alcohol or drugs. If bar-hopping into the night is a thing, then this is sadly not the place. I try to be ultra-respectful of the neighborhood families, and I really don't want the issues that can arise when someone under the influence comes back to a strange neighborhood. Things happen like people knocking on the wrong door, etc. I cannot risk that here. I hope you understand. I am most pleased to tour around during your stay, to go to the gym, cook a meal, or hang out at home. I do work full-time as a real estate broker. I make my own flexible schedule. If you schedule ahead, I am happy to accompany you as you like for several hours or more each day of your stay. At a former time, I was a pro Swedish masseur. I am happy to share that. If you are a couple, I am happy to spend some time giving you the tips of the trade. If you want to explore the XXX dark side of things, I would be happy to show you around. There are a few adult video shops with GH's around that are safe and cool, if you want to plan that kind of field trip! Around here, those places close up usually 9PM to midnight.

Nice to stay at Joe's (Joel's) place and discover Seymour, which is closer to New Haven than I originally thought. Joe is an exceptional host. I was intrigued by the description of his place - longer than most, but very accurate. We had wonderful conversations! Joe has a wide range of interests and experiences which made conversations engaging. His place can be a destination on its own. Thanks, Joe, for the experience !

My two night stay at the Seymour Lodge was truly extraordinary. Joel was the perfect host. In fact he was much more, he was a companion and then we became friends. Not only did Joel help me find restaurants and places of interest, he accompanied me when I went to them. What really impressed me was that he was willing to share his wonderful small dog with me. He, and well as Joel slept on the bed with me and that was really wonderful. Quite unexpectedly I discovered that Joel is involved in a lot of gay activities. That was a great interest to me. I highly recommend a stay at Seymour Lodge.
