Within a block in two directions, you’ll reach the water—the Seekonk River to the east and the harbor to the south. The Providence River is a 10 minute walk to the west, where there’s a night festival called Waterfire spring through fall, where braziers are lit along the river, with music and performers.

I selected “great for fitness lovers” because there are great running trails nearby. VP Fitness downtown currently offers a $20 day pass.
