The bedroom and living room are separate, which means I sleep in the other room. This is a cat household, so it’s not always 100 percent hair-free—please keep that in mind. After some plumbing work in the bathroom, I now have tiles in three different shades. There are three collapsible containers filled with water in the bathtub—they were needed during the renovation. The shower, however, can be used as normal. Guests receive a key to the front door and can enter the apartment at any time of day or night without restriction. However, after a guest lost the apartment key—which turned out to be quite an expensive ordeal—I no longer hand out apartment keys.

Otherwise, the apartment’s location is absolutely fantastic—right across from Europe’s gay hotspot and 500 m from KaDeWe. There’s a bus stop right outside the door, and two subway lines are nearby. Motzstraße and Nollendorfplatz are right nearby. Parking is free right outside the door from Friday at 6:00 PM until Monday morning at 8:00 AM; otherwise, just take public transit—you don’t necessarily need a car in Berlin. Recommended: park outside the S-Bahn ring. The apartment is very easy to reach from the main train station: just take the S-Bahn to Bahnhof Zoo and from there take the bus right to the door, or take a Bolt/Uber/taxi for under 10 €. Or take the FEX or regional train from the airport to the train station, then take an Uber, Bolt, or taxi for under 10 to the apartment—though Uber and Bolt are significantly cheaper than taxis. Important! The apartment isn’t suitable for people wearing suits or for other business meetings—keyword: cat. So, the apartment is clean, of course—it’s cleaned once a week by a cleaning lady, plus on the day a guest arrives. But as I said, there’s always a bit of cat hair and such lying around. So it’s better suited for backpackers, or just people who want to check out the local scene. And that scene is right across the street. And of course there are a few things lying around—I’ve been living here for years. Plus, I’m self-employed on the side. Please be clear: this is a place to sleep; I won’t be there.
