Botanical apartment in Catete. Creative vibe in the heart of Rio

Marcos has a wonderful home and is a great host. Comfortable bed, with a big window facing away from the street. Ceiling fan. Coffee in the morning was lovely and he even ran a load of laundry for me. He was helpful with tips around the city and we had a good time together going out one night. Recommend!

Marcos was an excellent host and made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. He was exceptionally generous and hospitable, even offering me food, coffee and use of the washing machine, which made the stay feel very relaxed and homely. I stayed for five nights and washed my clothes there twice, which was a real help during my trip. He also shared some authentic Brazilian pudim with me, which was delicious. The apartment felt especially cosy during the rainy Rio evenings, and my room was private, comfortable and quiet. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was good enough for me to do an interview from there without any problem. What stood out most was the location and atmosphere. After moving to Ipanema, I realised how special Catete had been. Ipanema felt rushed and touristy, while staying with Marcos felt more authentic, local and grounded. I would gladly stay with him again.

A phenomenal stay! The apartment is just as shown, with incredible views and natural air and light throughout. Located in a truly optimal place that puts you next to all things you need in Zona Sul without the tourist sights and prices you'd find in Copa or Ipanema. Plus, Marcos is a gem of a human who was super communicative and supportive throughout my stay. I'll definitely look to return here on my next Rio trip (next time with a CPF kkk).

Very good location. Easy to get to copcabana with uber or metro. Escalera Selaron is walking distance. Marcos is such a great host that always helps out with anything. He is very open and always a great conversation

Marcos is the most amazing host ever, he's very caring and will make you feel at home right away. He's also very communicative and flexible in regards with logistics. The place itself is as described, and in a nice neighborhood, outside the main tourist areas, but very in depth with the local culture of "cariocas", at the same time very centric so you can easily come and go to wherever you want.
