Carly Rae Jepsen : « I believe in equality for all ».

She made you dance with her hit « Call me maybe ». She’s been  serving as the opening act on Justin Bieber tour. And she is engaged against homophobia : she cancelled Boy Scouts concert Over Anti-Gay Policy and performed during last White Party in Palm Springs. Now Carly Rae Jepsen tells us about her engagement and share her favorite destinations with us. Hey, we just met her…and this is crazy!

What have you been doing before “Call Me maybe”?
Carly Rae Jepsen: Well I had a career as a musician in Canada but it was on a much smaller scale. I had a few radio singles, but it was hard for me to get any global attention. I always dreamed of being signed to a big label, and releasing my music worldwide.
The success of Call Me Maybe was my dream come true and allowed me to release my album Kiss all over the world!

Did you expect such a success for your first single?
No, I had no idea the song would get so big. It was an incredible adventure. I got to travel the world and tour with Justin Bieber. I'm still kind of pinching myself.

How was your experience on the Believe tour, with Justin and Cody?
The tour was amazing. I saw so many different people and places and got to perform in front of huge audiences each night. Performing Kiss live is still a rush for me. It was a fun a record to make but an even better one to play live! I love performing my new single “Tonight I’m Getting Over You” in the show as well!

Can you introduce us to the gardener of your video? (lol)
Hahaha... Holden Nowell. Cute- isn't he?! I get asked about him a lot.

We recently witnessed your commitment against homophobia. Why is it so important to you?
I believe in equality for all people. Some of my best friends in the world are gay. It's sad to me that it's even an issue.

Do you have a particular link with your gay audience?
I love all of my fans! I feel lucky knowing I have their support and love. They always have mine.

Have you often come to Paris? What do you like to do here?
I have been to Paris 4 times and I love it more and more each time I go! It's beautiful and I honestly feel like I could happily move there for keeps.

Your favorite city in the world?
I have a few...Paris, NYC, London, and Vancouver - these are my favourite cities so far.

The perfect city to fall in love?
Paris for sure!

The perfect country for a honeymoon?
I'm thinking Italy. Good food and beautiful architecture. <3

The city where you’ve seen the sexiest men?
LA- that's where I met my man- Matthew. (sigh)

Any object you always carry with you when you travel?
This compass necklace that my boyfriend gave me! It's my good luck charm.

On a plane, isle or window seat?
Window for sure!

Your dream travel destination?
I LOVE Japan- amazing fashion, food and people! It's unlike any place I've ever been before. I try to visit every chance I get.

Your next trip?
My next trip is to Chicago! I play a show there in two days. Very excited.

Could you share a picture of your last vacation?

Picture taken in Paris, Eiffel Tower.
