Start: Houston City Hall
The Houston Gay Pride and Parade are at the center of a five-day celebration of LGBT life, attended by an enormous 300,000 people each year. In 2018 Gay Pride Houston celebrates its 40th birthday, so that, of course, means there's a ruby anniversary theme (don't forget your ruby slippers, Dorothy!).
Like all pride events, Gay Pride Houston celebrates the ideal of equality and acceptance. The activities will include national and local performers and, of course, the massive finale parade through downtown.
With five days of fun, the main Houston Gay Pride Parade festivities will kick off on Saturday 23 June, with the Pride Festival running from 12pm to 19:00pm at Hermann Square in front of City Hall.
The Gay Pride Houston Parade follows at 20:30pm, along a route through the western edge of Downtown. All Gay Pride Houston celebration events on 23 June are free but VIP passes are available to buy. Rest assured, it will all be going on Downtown down south in the USA!
